Do I need boating experience?

Before setting out on your boat share, all members take part in Long Island Yacht Share's Premiere Boating Orientation Course where you will learn the proper berthing and safe handling of your boat by a USCG Licensed Captain.

How many days may I go boating?

Full Share Members receive 39 guaranteed days. Half Share Members receive 18 guaranteed days.

When may I use my boat share?

Members have access to their boat share based on a predetermined calendar in which they are allowed full access to the boat and marina facilities.  Members are also encouraged to swap days with other Members.

Who pays for fuel?

Members are responsible to return boat with a full fuel tank.

When does the season start/end?

Your boating season starts May 1st and continues through October 31st of the same year.  Premiere Boating Orientation Courses begin April 1st.

Do you offer daily boat rentals?

We do not rent boats by the day. We hope to build a long and trusting relationship with you.
